Japanese ukiyo-e artist (1760-1849), master of the woodblock print.
He created the most famous image in Japanese art — the cresting wave with Mt. Fuji behind it — in his seventies. He changed his name over 30 times, moved house nearly 100, and signed late works 'The Old Man Mad About Painting,' sure he'd only be great if he reached 110.
