Queen of the Ptolemaic Kingdom (69-30 BC), brilliant and multilingual.

Far more strategist than seductress, she spoke perhaps nine languages and was the first of her Greek dynasty to learn Egyptian. She allied with — and outmaneuvered — Julius Caesar and Mark Antony to keep Egypt independent, until Rome finally closed in.
