Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty (c. 1341-1323 BCE).
Took the throne around age 9 and died around 19; his short reign was minor in Egyptian terms. What made him famous was Howard Carter's 1922 discovery of his nearly-intact tomb, stuffed with 5,000+ gold objects. Asked 'Can you see anything?', Carter replied: 'Yes, wonderful things.'
