The Iliad + The Odyssey
Legendary Ancient Greek poet (c. 8th century BCE).
May or may not have existed as a single person — scholars are split, and some think 'Homer' was a tradition of oral poets rather than one author. Traditionally described as blind. Either way, the Iliad and Odyssey were memorized and recited for centuries before being written down — foundation stones of all Western literature.
