Founded the Academy
Ancient Greek philosopher (c. 428-348 BCE), student of Socrates.
After Socrates was executed, Plato fled Athens, traveled a decade, then founded the Academy — the first Western university, which ran for nearly 900 years. Wrote his philosophy as dialogues starring Socrates, so we'll never know where one ends and the other begins. His Allegory of the Cave is still cited in The Matrix.
